The lookout tower on János Hill
Designed by Frigyes Schulek, the Erzsébet lookout tower was built in 1911 in Neoromanesque style on 528-meter-high János Hill. It was named after the queen who died a tragic death and often took excursions here. The lookout tower is made up of four round terraces that gradually diminish in size, and which offer a magnificent view in all directions. The vista from the terrace on top is 77 kms.
